The groom’s tribe is becoming more prevalent especially in 2020. You will see more whiskey bars, cigar bars and lounges for the “boys club” to hang out and bond. It is similar to the “brides tribe”.

This styled shoot hit the cover of the June’s edition of “Hitched Wedding Magazine” and we are tickled pink to show you the behind the scenes photo’s that earned us the cover.

Join us on this journey of bold colors softened by rose gold, coral hues and emerald green.

Bridesmaid Etiquette 101. You’ve been asked to be a bridesmaid!  Yippee! You are so excited and honored to be chosen to join the celebration and stand before your bestie along with her bride tribe. Now, there are things you need to consider and be made aware of as the tide can get high and the pocket book can get depleted, causing tension as you move forward on this crazy roller coaster of emotions and festivities. We will take you step  by step on the journey to chaos and happiness as we point out the expectations of such a task.
Dresses: @shoprevelry

The Dresses

Now this one is tricky and sensitive in nature as we all have been a bridesmaid at one time. We get excited to be part of the bride tribe and then reality sets in. Don’t be upset if she chooses a color and style you won’t like. Instead be happy and work with her to get everyone else who is displeased on board. She will thank you in the end. Besides, you could always sell the dress afterwards, once you dry cleaned it to recoup some costs.

Steeling the Brides Thunder

Don’t make the festivities surrounding the wedding about you. If you got engaged, now is not the time to be sharing the good news at the brides events. You just found out your are having a baby, keep it quiet and share with her privately instead of at the Bridal Shower. In other words, remember the festivities and celebrations are highlighting the wedding.

Bridal Shower: Pinterest

Bridal Shower

The Maid of Honor will call on the brides tribe to organize the bachelorette party and or stag and do. You will be asked to participate financially as well for this one ladies I’m afraid. If for some reason you cannot, then offer your services to help plan and organize the party. It may be challenging to work with the other bridesmaids, so organize a girls tribe coffee date to get to know everyone a little better therefore making the transition of working together and spending the entire day together easier for all especially if there are  stronger personalities in the group. Don’t bother the bride with issues regarding the tribe as it will be awkward for her and she won’t want to deal with the drama.

Gifts: @cambridgeavenue

You spent money on all the items you needed to be a bridesmaid and you think you don’t have to get the couple a gift, right? Wrong. You still need to get them a gift or a monetary gift at best, however the amount doesn’t matter as long as it comes from the heart.

Drinking Bridesmaids:
Drinking Etiquette

When it comes to drinking, the celebration starts in the morning and last until late in the evening. Pace yourself and drink water in between or choose not to drink till dinner time. Making a scene, being loud or getting intoxicated isn’t a good look. Make wise choices and remember to eat. Everyone’s eyes isn’t only on the bride.

Robes: cuteweddingides

In conclusion, your Bestie is getting hitched and chose you to be by her side. It’s a honor and a privilege to be part of this momentous occasion and she wants to have you in her wedding photo’s and memories. So cheers to you and have fun on the ride to saying “I do”

Live Wedding Painter – New Trend

Live Wedding Painter – New Trend

What is a ”live wedding painter and artist” you ask? It’s an artist who is trained to capture moments and events while painting them on canvas using oil paint in real-time. This is such an exciting time to get married with this trend finally catching on in Toronto!

This wedding trend has been in Europe for some time now and is becoming a tradition around the world for those getting married in this day and age. It’s about time, as I have been waiting for the wedding painter-artist trend to finally make its mark.

Brides-to-be are going back to old traditions, keepsakes and momentums. Did you know there are many trained artists all over the world, who specialize in painting live events? It is becoming a staple and is highly sought out from brides and individuals celebrating events they want to capture.

Your guests will love this artistic element added to your wedding day and will be excited to see if they are in the painting! Within hours, you will be able to see the results, making your special day even more memorable.

Live Artist | Live Wedding Artist | Live Event Artist

Olga Pankova is a Russian artist currently living in Toronto, Canada. She is Canada’s Leading Live Painter. Her portrait paintings go far beyond merely capturing a faithful likeness. Her physical process of applying paint with a brush creates a unique dynamic energy, impossible to replicate through any mechanical process. Capturing detail is a cornerstone of Olga’s style.

Olga is an internationally recognized artist with works held in private collections in Canada, USA, Europe, Russia and the Middle East. Her work has been shown in solo and group shows in Canada and the U.A.E. Olga is the recipient of a number of awards. As a live artist, Olga fuses live art to create incredible works while allowing the viewer to experience the moment with the artist.

Olga graduated from The Republican Art Collage “P.Benkova” as an Artist-Designer from Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Hence, she is the recipient of a number of industry awards as well as having placed 1st in a number of art competitions.

How the process works to obtain a live wedding painting from Olga.

Olga arrives an hour before the start of the event and she begins to sketch and paint the background. She will identify  the important details of who to include in the live painting ahead of time. As the guests arrive, they love seeing the transformation of watching themselves appear on canvas.

As a Toronto portrait artist, Olga is available for creating beautiful portraits in oil, acrylic and watercolors.

Her biography is here: Live Wedding Painter Olga Pankova.

Below are just a few of her incredible live masterpieces.

Your wedding doesn’t need to have a Royal Wedding price tag to be “Meghan and Harry” memorable.

Setting a budget can be one of the most difficult aspects of planning a wedding.  If flipping through wedding magazines has you convinced a beautiful wedding must cost the equivalent of a down payment on a house, then you need to read this. We’ve compiled a few tips to help you say “I Don’t” to debt.

The key to keeping costs down may seem pretty obvious, yet can be difficult for many couples. Set a budget. A real budget. Be reasonable, and be honest with yourself. Being unrealistic or exceeding your budget will leave you in wedding debt after the big day. Everyone wants a memorable wedding, but don’t start your lives together with unnecessary debt.  These tips will help give you a realistic idea of how to set a wedding budget that won’t rival the “Kardashian-West” wedding.

The Venue

Venue is a big deal. It is also a major cost.

When choosing your venue, consider doing something unexpected. Most of the popular venues in big cities will cost you a big part of your budget, and often require separate ceremony and reception spaces. Do you have a family member with a beautiful backyard? Or a friend who owns a restaurant you could rent for a discounted rate? We love this renovated cathedral in Millbrook, Ontario. It is located less than 2 hours from Toronto. The cathedral lends a classical elegant beauty, while providing enough space for ceremony and reception to take place all together.

The Design

Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.

Design your wedding with intentional and minimalistic elements. Allow each piece to stand out and add to the overall design, without being overwhelmed.

A major design cost is often the florals. Work with your floral designer to choose flowers and greenery that is cost effective while maintaining the overall aesthetic you want. Allow your florals to be an accent to your other design elements, rather than basing your entire design around them. A simple bouquet of greenery lends a natural, whimsical aesthetic to your overall look while keeping costs low.

The Dress

Say yes to the dress. Say no to the crazy price tag.

Very few people can tell the difference between a custom made designer gown, and a well altered off-the-rack dress. Working with a talented seamstress allows you to take a less costly gown and make it look as if it were made just for you. Another option is to have a vintage dress altered to suit your style and needs. Your Mothers’ dress can look vintage-chic without looking out dated with some minor adjustments.

The Cake

You have to go for a tasting.

Deal with the cake after all decisions about dress style and reception décor have been made. These elements can serve as a blueprint for the design and structure of your wedding cake. Choose a cake that’s compatible with the style of the venue, the season, your gown, the flower arrangements or the menu. If you want colorful accents (such as sugar flowers or icing ribbons), give your baker fabric swatches. The cake should be part of the wedding, not a glaring sideshow.

The Theme

Delve a little deeper.

When it comes to choosing a wedding theme that’s unique and personal, just treading the water won’t do you any good. You need to get into the details. If you want to have a vintage-themed wedding, for instance, decide on a specific period, like the 1920s or 1960s. If you like rustic decorations, which kind of rustic are you talking about? The elegant or rugged kind? With a clear brief, it will be easier for vendors to understand your vision. If your theme is too general, different vendors might have different interpretations, and the results may not look harmonious together.

The Flowers

Know your own mind.

Before you get too excited about the flowers you’ve fallen in love with, you need to do the maths. Some floral arrangements may simply be a little unrealistic in terms of price so it’s a good idea to work out how much you have to spend on the flowers before you start looking. Keep your spending under control by using more expensive flowers sparingly.
