Design Trends

Designers and florist look for colors and floral’s that will create the most impact on a table and in a brides hands. YNeutral backgrounds capture the lush tones of this years’ patone wedding colour; the many shades and hues of purple. Florist and designers quickly gathered their thoughts to create their own masterpiece. Below, we walk you through the steps to pull this magnificent shoot together with just a little help from other creatives in the community.

Jill Jago Photography was called upon to assist us in capturing the many shades of this fabulous colour trend for 2018. Behind the scenes, we had been designing this styled shoot for 6 months trying to get just the right contrast of shades to ensure we captured the look.

Things to consider

Excited as we were to get started, there were so many factors to consider. How many shades could we incorporate into the design along with how to make them flow effortlessly.

In conclusion

Pleased with the final results, we are happy to share the color textures and flowers. Linens and place setting add elegance with soft candles alongside of the simple palette of dinnerware. Get inspired and create these beauties and tag us in your post.

Family Cottage Wedding

Maddy and Josh decided to get married on September 23rd, 2017. Filled with cotttage traditions, music and great food  the wedding couple decided this was the place they wantedd to say their “I do’s”. The happy couple called us to design their entire wedding from linens to backdrops and floral’s. Full wedding planning was in gear to fill this cottage with more memorable moments to share with family and friends

The Design

Wanting a simple down to earth wedding, the bride and groom requested a minimal backdrop as nature would be the key elements. This beautiful family cottage has many memories to share with their loved ones. One key element in planning this wedding was the absence of her beloved mother. We designed the entire wedding around her mothers favorite things. Music, family, the cottage and her love for sunflowers. We made sure no detail was overlooked so Maddy could feel her mothers presence on her wedding day.

Join us for this incredible emotional journey of a daughter and mother’s love. xo

Our Beautiful Boho Wedding Inspo Photo Shoot

Wedding Details

Our Boho Wedding Shoot was inspired  to create all beautiful things Boho Chic. Boho has been a popular trend in 2017 and will carry over to 2018 and thereafter. With it’s rustic  elements and rich colors, boho will continue to offer organic natural elements with hints of colors from burgundy, merlot, mustard and orange. Century Barn in Cavan was our venue of choice for this boho wedding inspo because of the history and character of the barn from generations of families.

Wedding Dresses

Our wedding dresses came from the talented Shar Thanga who is the designer behind Sharleez Bridal. Her dresses are stunning, unique and on trend.

Macramé Backdrop

The organic macramé backdrop we purchased was the start of the boho inspiration and we can’t get enough of this backdrop!

Flowers and Vintage

Bloomin Crazy provided our florals. We asked Carol Ann to incorporate burgundy, rich merlot tones softened by hints of pastel and organic greenery. Complemented with natural wood and brass elements, we capturing the glow with florals and brass candlestick holders by Southern Vintage Charm to give more elevation to the table.

The charcuterie mini’s created by Hawley Crescent are elegant and bite size to keep you satiated. They don’t take up real estate on the table.

Wedding Cake

Sweet Couture Cakes by Adele designed this breath taking wedding cake. Our only requests was to keep it simple with it’s 2 tiers of cream and 1 dark merlot tier finished with berries and a single succulent.

Elements and Rentals

Stone Street Beach designed our wood elements nestled in between the dessert table to enhance our boho wedding chic palette. Ghost chairs and harvest table provided by Perfect Party Rentals where added to keep the look vibrant and give a transparent vibe to the backdrop.

Beyond the Brush by Margarita Lacuna provided our brides makeup which was elegant and trendy. We asked for merlot tones and glossy lips.

Publican House Brewery gave options on smooth and robust flavors to complement our boho wedding vibe. After sampling their beer, I have to say they hit #1 on our list of favorite craft breweries in Ontario!

When choosing a photographer, ensure they capture your day with all the memories and hidden moments. Jennifer from JJ Media’s attention to detail in this photo shoot was definitely on point!

We hope you get inspired to choose our boho wedding, as we believe it is the perfect pairing for the modern day bride and groom. For more details, contact us here to book your wedding consult. much love… xo

Micro-Wedding Trend 2018

Micro-Wedding Trend 2018

Micro-wedding are small intimate wedding between the bride and groom and immediate family. It consists of no less than 2 and no more than 40 guests, 10-minute ceremony, a few photos and dinner afterwards at their favorite restaurant or a private room.

Some brides don’t need a bouquet and the idea of corsages and boutonnieres are non-existent. The entire bridal party is omitted along with the flower girl and ring bearer. Couples are considering getting married at city hall, the town court house even their favourite park. Planned on a smaller scale, their are still elements of tradition and last typically 5-6 hours.

Embracing a micro-wedding

Planning a wedding takes a great deal of time, energy and money. The couples are overwhelmed and consumed with their everyday life. Acommodating the needs of everyone else has shifted and they are pleased with combining elements they want.

Micro-weddings are more affordable on the budget and are less stressful to plan. It doesn’t mean micro-weddings don’t come with their own headaches.

Here’s what you should know before you embarque on the new trend.

Not for everyone

Not everyone in the family will be pleased you’re having an intimate wedding. Feelings might get hurt when you limit the guest list and is to be expected. Remember why you made this decision and make sure you don’t sway from the pressure.

The more you are both confident about your decision and the reasons why, your family and friends will understand. You can ease the change by sharing your photo memories in a small gathering after the honeymoon. Inviting them for cocktails to view the video and pictures of your special day is ideal.

In conclusion

Remember this new trend doesn’t have to be complicated, it just needs to reflect what you both want and don’t want. You don’t have to follow tradition, you just need to follow your dreams of what you envisioned your special day to be and that means you don’t need to empty your bank account to accommodate those who want more.

Wedding at The Forth

Wedding at The Forth

Our sweet couple Areen and Perry held their intimate wedding at The Forth on the Danforth. We filled the space with the bride’s request of merlot and pastel flowers accented by modern elements in white and birch. On the list of must haves were ethnic food, music, hometown traditions to celebrate with family and friends. I think we gave them just that!
