The groom’s tribe is becoming more prevalent especially in 2020. You will see more whiskey bars, cigar bars and lounges for the “boys club” to hang out and bond. It is similar to the “brides tribe”.

This styled shoot hit the cover of the June’s edition of “Hitched Wedding Magazine” and we are tickled pink to show you the behind the scenes photo’s that earned us the cover.

Join us on this journey of bold colors softened by rose gold, coral hues and emerald green.

Your wedding doesn’t need to have a Royal Wedding price tag to be “Meghan and Harry” memorable.

Setting a budget can be one of the most difficult aspects of planning a wedding.  If flipping through wedding magazines has you convinced a beautiful wedding must cost the equivalent of a down payment on a house, then you need to read this. We’ve compiled a few tips to help you say “I Don’t” to debt.

The key to keeping costs down may seem pretty obvious, yet can be difficult for many couples. Set a budget. A real budget. Be reasonable, and be honest with yourself. Being unrealistic or exceeding your budget will leave you in wedding debt after the big day. Everyone wants a memorable wedding, but don’t start your lives together with unnecessary debt.  These tips will help give you a realistic idea of how to set a wedding budget that won’t rival the “Kardashian-West” wedding.

The Venue

Venue is a big deal. It is also a major cost.

When choosing your venue, consider doing something unexpected. Most of the popular venues in big cities will cost you a big part of your budget, and often require separate ceremony and reception spaces. Do you have a family member with a beautiful backyard? Or a friend who owns a restaurant you could rent for a discounted rate? We love this renovated cathedral in Millbrook, Ontario. It is located less than 2 hours from Toronto. The cathedral lends a classical elegant beauty, while providing enough space for ceremony and reception to take place all together.

The Design

Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.

Design your wedding with intentional and minimalistic elements. Allow each piece to stand out and add to the overall design, without being overwhelmed.

A major design cost is often the florals. Work with your floral designer to choose flowers and greenery that is cost effective while maintaining the overall aesthetic you want. Allow your florals to be an accent to your other design elements, rather than basing your entire design around them. A simple bouquet of greenery lends a natural, whimsical aesthetic to your overall look while keeping costs low.

The Dress

Say yes to the dress. Say no to the crazy price tag.

Very few people can tell the difference between a custom made designer gown, and a well altered off-the-rack dress. Working with a talented seamstress allows you to take a less costly gown and make it look as if it were made just for you. Another option is to have a vintage dress altered to suit your style and needs. Your Mothers’ dress can look vintage-chic without looking out dated with some minor adjustments.

The Cake

You have to go for a tasting.

Deal with the cake after all decisions about dress style and reception décor have been made. These elements can serve as a blueprint for the design and structure of your wedding cake. Choose a cake that’s compatible with the style of the venue, the season, your gown, the flower arrangements or the menu. If you want colorful accents (such as sugar flowers or icing ribbons), give your baker fabric swatches. The cake should be part of the wedding, not a glaring sideshow.

The Theme

Delve a little deeper.

When it comes to choosing a wedding theme that’s unique and personal, just treading the water won’t do you any good. You need to get into the details. If you want to have a vintage-themed wedding, for instance, decide on a specific period, like the 1920s or 1960s. If you like rustic decorations, which kind of rustic are you talking about? The elegant or rugged kind? With a clear brief, it will be easier for vendors to understand your vision. If your theme is too general, different vendors might have different interpretations, and the results may not look harmonious together.

The Flowers

Know your own mind.

Before you get too excited about the flowers you’ve fallen in love with, you need to do the maths. Some floral arrangements may simply be a little unrealistic in terms of price so it’s a good idea to work out how much you have to spend on the flowers before you start looking. Keep your spending under control by using more expensive flowers sparingly.

Design Trends

Designers and florist look for colors and floral’s that will create the most impact on a table and in a brides hands. YNeutral backgrounds capture the lush tones of this years’ patone wedding colour; the many shades and hues of purple. Florist and designers quickly gathered their thoughts to create their own masterpiece. Below, we walk you through the steps to pull this magnificent shoot together with just a little help from other creatives in the community.

Jill Jago Photography was called upon to assist us in capturing the many shades of this fabulous colour trend for 2018. Behind the scenes, we had been designing this styled shoot for 6 months trying to get just the right contrast of shades to ensure we captured the look.

Things to consider

Excited as we were to get started, there were so many factors to consider. How many shades could we incorporate into the design along with how to make them flow effortlessly.

In conclusion

Pleased with the final results, we are happy to share the color textures and flowers. Linens and place setting add elegance with soft candles alongside of the simple palette of dinnerware. Get inspired and create these beauties and tag us in your post.

Our Beautiful Boho Wedding Inspo Photo Shoot

Wedding Details

Our Boho Wedding Shoot was inspired  to create all beautiful things Boho Chic. Boho has been a popular trend in 2017 and will carry over to 2018 and thereafter. With it’s rustic  elements and rich colors, boho will continue to offer organic natural elements with hints of colors from burgundy, merlot, mustard and orange. Century Barn in Cavan was our venue of choice for this boho wedding inspo because of the history and character of the barn from generations of families.

Wedding Dresses

Our wedding dresses came from the talented Shar Thanga who is the designer behind Sharleez Bridal. Her dresses are stunning, unique and on trend.

Macramé Backdrop

The organic macramé backdrop we purchased was the start of the boho inspiration and we can’t get enough of this backdrop!

Flowers and Vintage

Bloomin Crazy provided our florals. We asked Carol Ann to incorporate burgundy, rich merlot tones softened by hints of pastel and organic greenery. Complemented with natural wood and brass elements, we capturing the glow with florals and brass candlestick holders by Southern Vintage Charm to give more elevation to the table.

The charcuterie mini’s created by Hawley Crescent are elegant and bite size to keep you satiated. They don’t take up real estate on the table.

Wedding Cake

Sweet Couture Cakes by Adele designed this breath taking wedding cake. Our only requests was to keep it simple with it’s 2 tiers of cream and 1 dark merlot tier finished with berries and a single succulent.

Elements and Rentals

Stone Street Beach designed our wood elements nestled in between the dessert table to enhance our boho wedding chic palette. Ghost chairs and harvest table provided by Perfect Party Rentals where added to keep the look vibrant and give a transparent vibe to the backdrop.

Beyond the Brush by Margarita Lacuna provided our brides makeup which was elegant and trendy. We asked for merlot tones and glossy lips.

Publican House Brewery gave options on smooth and robust flavors to complement our boho wedding vibe. After sampling their beer, I have to say they hit #1 on our list of favorite craft breweries in Ontario!

When choosing a photographer, ensure they capture your day with all the memories and hidden moments. Jennifer from JJ Media’s attention to detail in this photo shoot was definitely on point!

We hope you get inspired to choose our boho wedding, as we believe it is the perfect pairing for the modern day bride and groom. For more details, contact us here to book your wedding consult. much love… xo
